I haven’t posted anything lengthy or terribly eloquent on the subject of women in geek culture lately, have I? Have this instead.

YES, there are people who find cultural appropriation and the use of slurs “ok” with them.

Does that mean it’s “ok” to do it to EVERYONE, even if they might be personally offended by it?

nOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Also it is very important to realize that your irl friends saying this shit is ok may be out of a desire to not start drama and get into arguments. I fucking detest when straight people say faggot but I have a few straight friends who do and it is just not worth the shit to tell them to stop.

This is why i dont wanna leave this bar. EVER #oldchicago

This is why i dont wanna leave this bar. EVER #oldchicago

I’m about to have my last beer in this bar for god knows how long guys.

I’m trying not to get nostalgic and choked up here, but when I moved to Evansville permanently after going to college here I said, “I’m gonna become a regular somewhere.” And after a lot of hoping around I finally found this place.

They have a beer tour of 110 beers. They make you feel at home no matter who your server is. No matter whether I was currently employed by the scouts, the youth home, or my museum, I took my coworkers here. And once Richard was my server. It was hard for me to go anywhere else.

When I found out I had a gluten allergy, Richard would make sure I could eat or drink anything before I did, even if I’d already looked it up and found out it was ok.

I don’t know how I’m going to survive FL without an Old Chicago. And I don’t know how I’m gonna finish my last beer without crying. This also happens to be the night I get my 110th beer and my name on the wall.

Lol I think from all my years of 7 moves, I’ve never been as attached to a place like this one. It’s like a real life Cheers to me, guys.
